Hello Doc- Your pic of the rabbit with ear mites is a dandy. I am not sure your animal was scratching the ear but I find most rabbits actually don't seem to bother the ear so much- even with a very bad case of mites. The crust, in my experience, develops due to the burrowing of the bugs into the very thin skin and not so much the scratching of the bunny. I think the rabbit ear is more reactive to the mites than dog ears and reacts with more fluid and then it dries to a crust in excess. I realize this is not a good posting to read over dinner but wanted to say hello as well and keep up the good work.
